WORKSHOP – DAY 2
Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI) along with CISAC, APRA and JASRAC hosted the second day of workshop which was on January 27, 2016. The moderator was Mr. Chico Hindarto as the Chairman of WAMI, who opened the workshop at Tartine Restaurant. We invited users to the second day of the workshop, those who attended; APMINDO, APERKI, Dyandra Promosindo, Happy Puppy, PAPPRI, VMC, Trinity Optima Production, Electric Ocean, PT Cabe Rawit, representatives from LMKN, Bekfraf (Badan Ekonomi Kreatif) and US Embassy.
The speakers at the workshop were Mr. Benjamin Ng (Regional Director for Asia-Pacific of the CISAC), Mr. Scot Morris (Director International of APRA AMCOS), and Mr. Satoshi Watanabe (Senior Administrator of General Affairs Bureau of JASRAC). The workshop was started with an opening lunch and then Mr. Chico gave a brief presentation about WAMI to the audience, including WAMI’s legal entity, organizational structures, membership & distribution and also plans for 2016. After that, Mr. Benjamin shared briefly about CISAC, as well as Collective Management and Music Licensing to the audience. Wahana Musik Indonesia is the only CMO in Indonesia, that is acknowledged as the member of CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers).
The next session was another presentation from Mr. Scot. His presentation was mostly about APRA’s organizational structures, types of licenses (e.g. Hotels/Pubs/Bars), and also a joint venture for licensing background music with PPNZ called OneMusic. The last speaker was Mr. Satoshi. His presentation was mostly about Karaoke License in Japan. He shared that 90% karaoke services at pubs/restaurants and 96% karaoke rooms are licensed. Mr. Chico closed the workshop with Q&A and discussion session. The representatives from APERKI and Dyandra Entertainment raised their questions in regards with WAMI and tariff for concert.
